Why I Love “People Presents: Blending Christmas,” Lifetime Holiday Movie

If you haven’t already started watching Lifetime’s lineup of amazing holiday movies, what have you been waiting for? This year, they are better than ever and I’ve been enjoying every single one.

This post is sponsored by Lifetime but the words are 100% my own.

Lifetime has a way of adding comedy, romance, and a bit of drama all in a neat little package. This recipe makes for holiday movies that will soon become your favorites and you will find yourself watching them again and again.

There’s nothing more relaxing than settling in after a long day with your favorite snack, those you love (or alone), and letting the cares of the day get washed down by a quaint movie for an hour or so.

People Presents: Blending Christmas will premiere On December 12th at 8 pm ET/PT on Lifetime.

This movie stars Haylie Duff and Aaron O’Connell. You will also notice some familiar faces that may remind you of your childhood: There are five stars from the ever-popular ‘70s family television show, The Brady Bunch.

Barry Williams, who played Greg, Christopher Knight played Peter, Mike Lookinland played Bobby, Susan Olsen played the sweet, Cindy, and Robbie Rist played Cousin Oliver in later seasons of the show. It doesn’t get more nostalgic than that and it’s so fun to see the stars now.

The opening scene will draw you in quickly and you will want to know what’s going to happen with Emma (played by Duff) and Liam (played by O’Connell).

The couple wants to bring their relationship to the next level and Liam is thinking the upcoming holidays will be the perfect time to surprise Emma. He has put so much effort into making this the perfect holiday for them and has the best of intentions. His plan is to recreate the Christmases that Emma used to enjoy with her family and get all the family members involved. I mean, you can’t help but fall in love with him.

However, things get dicey when the family members get a little too familiar and think they should have more of a say in what comes next for Emma and Liam. The tension has the couple wondering if they are even a match in the first place and you get to have a front seat to the drama. It’s interesting to watch how the couple navigates their way through this time and the part the family plays in it.

Blending Christmas hits home to so many people since we all know spending the holidays with your family, and your partner’s family can carry some tension and stress. Lifetimes tackles this common holiday stressor with comedy and ease while being incredibly relatable.

Without giving too many spoilers I have to mention one of the favorite things about this movie is the holiday decorations. Each scene is so lit up and magical it will make you want to go out and buy all the twinkle lights you can find. There are some scenes shot at night and Lifetime made everything so beautiful I wanted to go out and copy all of the decor. I’ve never seen so many beautiful Christmas scenes shot at night that looked so cozy and inviting.

Yes, these movies are light and predictable but that’s what we love about them. It’s wonderful to turn on the television and see happy people who are getting into the season and remembering what it’s truly about. If you ask me, we need a lot more of that floating around so I’ll take all I can get.

I also love how there are so many holiday movies to choose from on Lifetime. The premiere of It’s a Wonderful Lifetime started on November 12 this year and will be lasting until Christmas so there’s plenty of time to get into the holiday spirit as you watch all of these nostalgic, festive movies.

Lifetime gives you the gift of family time with their diverse character lineup, relatable plots, and wonderful sets.

I know I can’t pull myself away and I know you will feel the same. So, get the whole family involved, make a night of it (or several nights), and curl up and enjoy these idyllic movies. Just don’t forget the hot cocoa and cookies.
