The widely accepted theory initially proposed by Diana Baumrind which was later expanded by Maccoby and Martin categorize parenting into 4 different groups with their own unique approaches (authoritative, authoritarian, permissive and neglectful). I talk about the distinct characteristics of each of these styles and their effect on a child.
