“What Advice do you have for raising kids?”

Recently, http://www.thehighcalling.org/video spoke with Kathy Bruner, Wife, Mother, and Nurse, about the high calling of raising kids. Click “Show more” to see the transcript.

I’ve always wanted our home and me to be a safe place for our children, so they could talk about anything. We did so many things wrong in cultivating character into our children, because of going to extremes. But one thing we did well— and our children would say that with all of the scars that they have from our bad parenting—we let everything go out on the table to be talked about. The kids learned they could talk about anything with their mother and their father and they did. We tugged it out until we got some kind of a measure of understanding, and I think that cultivated within our children openness to their own kids now.
