What if I told you in the US there’s a virus in newborn infants called CMV.
CMV is a herpes virus. It’s not a respiratory virus. So the way that a woman would be exposed or anybody is through human to human contact, such as with saliva, or urine or other bodily fluids.
A healthy adult may not even know they’ve been exposed to CMV or they might have some cold-like symptoms, but for most of us, it’s a nonevent in our lives, and we’re not even aware. According to the CDC, over 50% of U.S adults will have a CMV infection by the time they’re 40.
