Spring Break 2022: Things To Do in Connecticut with Kids





It’s almost time for spring break 2022 in Connecticut, and the kiddos will be home for a few days to a whole week or perhaps more. From family-friendly spring break events in Hartford and Bridgeport to Middletown and Mystic, more sun means more things to do in Connecticut that break up the routine and help make new memories.

Spring Break Activities Near Hartford 

1. Laurel Ridge Daffodils – Litchfield 

Take advantage of a sunny day to visit the glorious first blooms of the Litchfield Daffodils at Laurel Ridge Farm. Spend the day exploring 25 other things to do in Litchfield County.

2. Earth Day at Flamig Farm – West Simsbury 

The Earth Day celebration at Flamig Farm is the perfect way to say hello to Spring! 

3. Jonathon’s Dream – Bloomfield

‘Jonathon’s Dream’  playground was created as a place where children of differing abilities could come and play together. 

4. Visit West Hartford – West Hartford 

Visit one of Family Circle’s, Top 10 Towns for Families: West Hartford! Visit the home of Noah Webster, hang at the Children’s Museum, shop at Blue Back Square, grab a gift at the Toy Chest, and eat at Max Burger.

5. Nomad’s – South Windsor  

Play laser tag, bowl, try your luck at arcade games, and grab something to eat at Nomad’s in South Windsor. You’ll also find neon mini-golf and bumper cars.

6. REACT Premium Escape Rooms — Windsor Locks

Choose something classic like the Raiders II and the Rooms of Doom or something edgy like Strangest Things. Need a little bit more of an escape? Check out these Escape Rooms in Connecticut.  

7. Wadsworth Falls — Middlefield

When the weather gets a little warm, Wadsworth Falls is a lovely place for kids to explore. Dip your toes into the cool water at the base of Wadsworth Falls. 

8. SpringFest – New Milford 

Celebrate all things gardening at SpringFest 2022.  Perfect your green thumb while the kids participate in children’s activities. 

9. Connecticut Science Center – Hartford 

Engineer your way to a great spring break at the Ct Science Center. With more than 165 hands-on exhibits spanning 10 galleries, this spot will turn the whole family into scientists for the day.

10. Colorblends House and Spring Garden – Bridgeport 

Plan a trip to the Colorblends House and Spring Garden for its annual display of over 50,000 blooming bulbs; it’s a visual delight for spring seekers. 

11. Glow in the Park – Bridgeport 

Swing through the trees surrounded by hundreds of twinkling lights. 

12. Earthplace – Westport 

Spend a day surrounded by nature when you plan a trip to one of Connecticut’s Nature Centers. Sign up for a program, engage with live specimens, or take a hike.

13. Maritime Aquarium – Norwalk 

Got an aquatic-loving kiddo? Dive into an adventure every day at Norwalk’s Maritime Aquarium. Make sure to stop by the newly opened Sea & Discover Zone where young guests can play the role of marine explorers

14. Best Time Ever – Stamford 

Get your brushes ready! Spring break means arts crafts fun at the Best Time Ever in Stamford.

15. Skyzone Trampoline Park — Norwalk

Kids of all ages will love this place for its Ninja Warrior Course, free-climb area, trapeze, warped climbing wall, foam put, skyline, and so much more.

16. Color Challenge – Greenwich 

Add a little color to your spring break!  This 1.5-mile fun run includes 6 color powder stations where runners will get dusted with splashes of color. 

17. Wondrous Wildflowers – Greenwich 

Spring into the season with beautiful blooming flowers.  This program at the Greenwich Audubon Center will let you learn about many different kinds of native flowers that bloom in early spring.

18. Meet the New Kids – Westport 

Learn all about Nigerian Goats during this program at Westport’s Wakeman Town Farm. 

19. Stepping Stones Museum for Children – Norwalk 

Go check out the newly renovated spaces at Stepping Stones Museum for Children.  Lights On! And Dinosaurs: Big Adventure 

20. Stamford Museum and Nature Center – Stamford 

There is no better place to say “Hello spring!” than on a farm.  There is no better place to do that than Heckscher Farm at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. 

Spring Break Activities in Eastern Connecticut  

21. Spring Outdoors – The Last Green Valley 

Enjoy various “Spring Outdoors” events and activities throughout the Last Green Valley! The “Quiet Corner of Connecticut” is hosting its annual celebration of the great outdoors including hikes, clean-ups, and other adventures. 

22. Pirate Days at Mystic Seaport Museum – Mystic 

Point the family toward Mystic for seaside spring break fun. Hunt for treasure, learn about its swashbuckling history and make a souvenir to take home during Pirate Days.

23. Halfinger Farms – Higganum 

Dance with the daffodils and spend the day outside picking your own.

24. Spend The Day in Niantic– Niantic 

Looking for an easy day trip on the coast? Browse the hundreds of shelves at the Book Barn, check out the Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, fly a kite at Rocky Neck Beach, and don’t forget to indulge in a treat at Gumdrops & Lollipops. 

25. Silver Sands State Park – Milford 

Located on the southern edge of Milford, Silver Sands’ somewhat remote location makes for a much less crowded experience than other beaches in Connecticut.  Explore more sandy shores and check out Connecticut’s great beaches.

26. New Haven Pizza – New Haven 

You say apizza, I say a pizza! Plan a culinary adventure through Connecticut by stopping at one (or more) of our famous pizzerias. Follow it up with an outdoor beer garden for the grown-ups.

27. Sleeping Giant – Hamden

The one-and-a-half-mile trail will offer panoramic views of Long Island Sound and the New Haven area at the peak of Mt. Carmel.

28.  IT Adventure Ropes — New Haven

The IT Adventure Ropes Course is THE  largest indoor ropes course in the WORLD! Yup, the WORLD!  In IT, you’ll find zip lines, bridges, cargo nets, walls to climb, and more and so much more.

29. Mystic Aquarium – Mystic 

The aquarium is home to Northern fur seals, Steller sea lions, California sea lions, black-footed penguins, stingrays, and of course -everyone’s favorite – Beluga whales.

30.  Dinosaur Place – Oakdale

Go on a prehistoric egg hunt or celebrate Earth Day…with dinos! The Dinosaur Place at Nature’s Art Village opens for the season on April 9, 2022.
